MULTIPLE ONENESS
T I M E R E L E A S E D P E R F O R M A N C ES
Matt Sullivan / Ken Cro-Ken

* THE NEW YORK TIMES - Music Review
By VIVIEN SCHWEITZER
(Published: February 22, 2011)
"The
most unusual work I encountered was “Multiple Oneness,” an intriguing
performance-art piece by the oboist Matt Sullivan and the painter Ken
Cro-Ken. While Mr. Sullivan played a melancholy lament over recorded
sounds, Mr. Cro-Ken poured liquids onto a canvas projected onto a video
screen. The colorful liquids flowed through the painting’s raised
surfaces like yellow lava, swirling in strange tandem with the oboe’s
melancholy tunes."

"SONIC BLOOM"
Made LIVE in dwntwn. Manhattan at Duarte Square with spray foam, found objects and paint. (The art loving bunny in the pic on the right... who was he??? I don't know. It's NY. You don't ask questions. ) The feather pillow that was attached by spray foam on top of the sculpture (also in the pic. on right), has an area of fabric that is exposed directly to the elements and will eventually open up and many of the feathers will be emitted into the air and travel away from the sculpture; much like a flowers or plants that spreads its seed over the land.
("What does not have the power to create life has the power to redistribute in space and time." - EMERSON)
This sculpture, "SONIC BLOOM", is now on the East Village roof top studio
and will evolve over time as I add more flower bright colors and join forces with nature.

Next, "SONIC BLOOM" will be moved to the base of the Brooklyn Bridge overlooking Manhattan
in an ARTS-IN-PUBLIC-PLACES project for:
B.W.A.C. SUMMER SHOW - "ABUNDANCE"
July - September 2009
"Sonic Bloom" will continue to be affected by the abundant invisible forces
that shape and mold all things.
The art work below, "THREE ENVIRONMENTAL FLAGS", was made for B.W.A.C.'s 25th ANNIVERSARY
two years ago in the same park, (Fulton-Ferry), and was shaped by the wind off the East River.

"A SHOW OF LOVE"
Curated by Kazuko Miyamoto and Ken Cro-Ken
"A BRIEF MOMENT IN TIME" 2001 Ken Cro-Ken
By mixing paints and catalysts together, Ken Cro-Ken sets his "Speed Element" paints into motion
and mimic the push-pull forces found in nature that shape and mold all things.
As a result, he paints microscopic as well as satellite views of the earth
and places scattered throughout the universe.
These are abstracts waiting to be called realistic when technology "catches up".
